Help support refugees in detention and fight for their freedom.

For too long our Government has chosen to deny refugees a life of dignity and safety, by keeping people locked up indefinitely in offshore and onshore detention.

Detaining people for years on end, with no plan for their release and resettlement is wrong – it’s keeping families apart, making people sick and robbing people of their futures.

But you can be a lifeline to freedom and support for people in detention.

Working with our sector partners and community advocates, the ASRC is fighting to end the cruel detention regime and secure peoples’ freedom and long-term safety.

But until they are free your support can help provide people with basic needs that help keep them safe and connected to the outside world.

With your donation, we can continue to:

  • provide casework, phone counselling and crisis intervention to support people’s physical and mental health
  • help pay for basic things people need like phones and phone credit that provide a lifeline to the outside world
  • keep fighting in the courts to uphold peoples’ rights to live safely and secure their protection visas
  • work with the refugee sector to apply political pressure on our Government to release and resettle people
  • mobilise a community of advocates to fight fearlessly for peoples’ freedom and work with the media to shine a spotlight on the crisis

With your support we can help people in detention with basic needs and demand our Government take responsibility in granting people seeking asylum with their freedom and the chance of a fairer future.

We have a vision for people’s safety and freedom. But we need your support to make this possible.

We won’t stop until they are free. Thank you for being a lifeline to their freedom.
