THIS DUNKLEY BY-ELECTION

WE ARE

STRONGER THAN FEAR

No matter where we’re from, most of us are proud of our vibrant, multicultural society.
For too long, elections have been used to spread fear about refugees and divide us against each other.
Together, we’re stronger than fear. This by-election, vote with refugees and people seeking asylum.

WE ARE

STRONGER UNITED

No matter where we come from or how we got here, most of us want to live a safe and peaceful life, provide for our families and contribute to our community.

We take pride in our vibrant multicultural society and we know we’re at our best when people of different backgrounds come together, in good times and bad.

B
ut for too long, some politicians have tried to divide us against each other, based on what we look like, where we come from or how we got here – especially during elections.

They want to distract us from solving the real problems we face, by spreading fear and pointing the finger at people seeking safety on our shores.

But we’re stronger than fear, and we’re as proud of our diversity as the things we have in common.

Whether we’re fighting fires, floods or a pandemic – or welcoming people seeking safety from violence and war – we’ve got each other’s backs.

When people of all backgrounds join together, we can solve the big problems and make a better future for all of us.

That’s why this by-election, find out what your candidate stands for and if they support fair and equal policy for refugees and people seeking asylum.

WE ARE

STRONGER TOGETHER

Some politicians may try to divide us against each other with scare campaigns, but we are stronger than fear. Vote for justice for refugees this by-election.

WE ARE

STRONGER WITH A PLAN

PROTECTION: Permanent protection for refugees stuck on temporary visas

Refugees in Australia should have permanent protection and a clear resettlement pathway. Our current system is hurting the most vulnerable for no clear reason. We want permanent protection, clear resettlement plans and a fair process for all.

FREEDOM: Freedom from Detention and a real solution for resettlement

Australia’s immigration detention regime is out of step with the general public and international community. People seeking asylum and refugees must be immediately released from detention.

SAFETY: A universal safety net for all refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia

All refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia should have access to mainstream social support such as Centrelink, housing assistance, Medicare and work rights. We cannot keep denying people the basic means to rebuild their lives in a supportive community.
