We are an independent human rights organization. We don’t work for the government. Our help is free. We work to protect and uphold the human rights of people seeking asylum in Australia. We believe all people should be free.

We help people seeking asylum. A person seeking asylum is a person who:

  • Has had to leave their country because it is too dangerous to stay there;
  • Who is in danger in their country because they are being seriously harmed or at risk of serious harm because of either their political opinion, religion, race, nationality or social group; and
  • Whose government can’t or won’t protect them from that serious harm.
