People seeking asylum are in a position of increased vulnerability and disadvantage due to Government neglect.

The COVID-19 pandemic disproportionately affected people seeking asylum’s ability to earn money and provide for their families.

Yet despite experiencing greater job losses and income instability, our Government continued to exclude people seeking asylum from safety nets like Job Keeper/Seeker, Centrelink and Medicare.

With no job or access to income support, people seeking asylum have fallen into a position of even greater disadvantage during the pandemic.

Unable to feed their families and pay the rent, thousands of people seeking asylum, including children, are now at risk of becoming homeless.

The ASRC is stepping in to support vulnerable individuals and families with their housing, food, healthcare and other basic needs each week.

Our caseworkers and employment teams are also providing vital services to help people regain their security and independence.

People seeking asylum must not be denied the chance to recover from the pandemic and rebuild their lives in safety.

Knowing the rent is covered, that food will be on the table and access to medical care is available, people will have the opportunity to focus on their recovery.

Your donation can provide safety and dignity to hundreds people this Winter and stop disadvantage from holding back their recovery.

It’s in your hands.
