You may know her as Dee Bliss from Neighbours, Mel from Satisfaction, Danielle McGuire from Underbelly, Dimity from House Husbands and Kath Rickards from Playing for Keeps, just to name a few of the popular Australian dramas she’s acted in.

Born Melanie Anne Weston, West commenced a degree in law at Deakin University, before ultimately deferring her studies indefinitely to pursue a career in acting. She joined the cast of Neighbours as Dee Bliss in 1999 and in what was supposed to be an 11-week stint turned into a four-year role, where she was nominated for ‘Most Popular New Female Talent’ at the 2001 Logie Awards. She has also been nominated for many other awards, including an Astra Award nomination for ‘Most Outstanding Performance by an Actor – Female’ in 2009 and in 2008, she won the AFI Award (now known as the AACTA Awards) for ‘Best Guest or Supporting Actress in a Television Drama.’

Madeleine West is a mother of 6 and has experienced more in her time than many would even dare imagine. Despite personal tragedy and seemingly impossible odds, Madeleine is fulfilling her ambitions and is living proof that regardless of the obstacles you face, by setting goals and having faith in yourself, anything is possible.

She is a regular contributor to 9Honey providing her perspective on all things lifestyle and parenting and is a committed ambassador of the ASRC having supported the Story Beside You campaign in 2019 and a regular volunteer at the centre in Footscray.
