Nadine is a leading voice in the humanitarian, development, and forced displacement sector, with over 15 years of professional experience in some of the most challenging parts of the world, including Syria, Afghanistan, and Lebanon. Nadine has worked with some of the leading development and humanitarian agencies – such as World Vision and Save the Children – in leadership, advisory, and representational roles.
She has led multi-national teams and managed large-scale humanitarian, development, and resilience programs across Asia, the Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa. Nadine’s work has been informed by her experiences as a brown Arab woman, often working at the frontline in fragile contexts around the world. Key areas of interest include putting children’s rights at the heart of humanitarian action and promoting inclusion, compassion and humanity.
Nadine joined the ASRC as the Executive Director of Community in September 2022, leading the organisation’s programs and advocacy efforts to dismantle decades of harsh policies, promote the inclusion of forcibly displaced people, and build coalitions to demand human rights for all people seeking asylum in Australia.
