Sara’s story

In the lottery of birth, Sara* was born into a country where she was persecuted by her government, simply because of her ethnicity. When she escaped, she sought safety in our community.

Everyday you are running but you don’t get any results. Then you have to get up again. I feel like I am wasting the best years of my life.

For the past three years, Sara and her family have been fighting to rebuild their lives: to be finally recognised as refugees.

We are not sure about the future, or even where we are going to live. Here, you are at zero.

For Sara, and thousands of others, rebuilding a life in limbo is like swimming agaisnt the tide.  They just need a little help, and for people to stand with them, to believe in them.

You can help create a brighter, safer future for Sara, and others seeking asylum in Australia by supporting the ASRC Christmas Appeal.

Your tax-deductible donation of $2 or more will create positive change for thousands of people seeking asylum.

$20 can give 8 weeks of training and assistance to find employment
$60 can give 1 critical legal consultation
$200 can provide 2 weeks of safe housing
$500 can offer 7 months free from hunger, for a family of 4

Take a stand and give generously this Christmas, every dollar counts. Please donate now below.
