This year, we celebrate the resilience and strength of refugees alongside two powerful women, Mursal Sadat and Parisa Sekandari, who have found community and hope through the ASRC. Their dreams for the future remind us of the power of compassion and solidarity in creating a fairer and more inclusive society for all.
Last year, thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we raised $1.34 million in just one day. This year, our goal is to raise $1.4 million to continue our critical work supporting refugees and advocating for their rights.
The World Refugee Day Telethon will be broadcast live from the ASRC’s ‘Home of Hope’ in Footscray, Melbourne, from 7am to 10pm. Join us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter as we are joined by celebrities, media personalities, and partners to raise vital funds and awareness.
The ASRC remains independent and relies solely on public donations to support refugees and people seeking asylum who are often excluded from government assistance. Your contribution to the World Refugee Day Telethon will enable us to continue providing essential services and advocating for lasting social change.
Telethon Supporters and Partners:
We’re proud to announce the support of ambassadors and partners including Julian Burnside AO QC, Arnold Zable, Ben Brown, Benjamin Law, Kate Durham, Sharon Johal, Tom Ballard, and many more. Partners like Maurice Blackburn Lawyers and the Da Gama Pinto Foundation will be doubling donations at key hours throughout the day.
