Australians are enduring the worst bush fire season on record and people seeking asylum and refugees living in our communities want to help our home heal.

The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre and Madeline West have approached local Rural Australians for Refugees, local councils and land care groups in fire-affected areas of VIC.

We will be holding community meetings and tree planting days over the next few months, where people seeking asylum can support local communities to heal their land by planting Australian trees for wildlife and to reduce carbon emissions.

The ASRC would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri and Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation as traditional owners and custodians of the land on which the ASRC stands. We acknowledge that the land was never ceded and we pay our respect to them, their customs, their culture, to elders past and present and to their emerging leaders.
