Join the Table: Feast for Freedom 2026 is officially open
At the ASRC, we’ve found that one of the best ways to connect and start conversations is often over a shared meal which is why we’re thrilled to welcome everyone back to the table for this year’s Feast for Freedom.
Feast for Freedom is more than just a meal; it’s our annual invitation to celebrate the rich cultures and stories of refugees. By hosting a Feast in your own home, you aren’t just sharing food – you’re raising vital funds to support the ASRC’s life-changing services.
Meet This Year’s Hero Cooks
This year, we are honored to feature recipes gifted by two incredible home cooks: Noha from Palestine and Nige, from Sri Lanka. Beyond the beautiful recipes on the table, both cooks share personal stories that illustrate the profound connection between food, culture, and the journey of seeking asylum.
“People only hear about Palestine in the context of war, but Palestine is so much more than that,” Noha says. “That’s what I want to show.”
When you host, you’ll have the chance to cook Noha and Nige’s food, featuring:
- Musakhan Rolls – A modern take on Palestine’s national dish.
- Kari Kulambu Masala – A lamb or potato curry.
- Masakah Eggplant – Prepared the traditional Palestinian way.
- Vengaya Bajji – An deep fried onion Bhaji
How do I host?
When you register to host a Feast, we send you a free Host Kit designed to make your event meaningful, delicious, and easy to organize. This year’s kit features:
- The 2026 Recipe Book: Featuring Noha and Nige’s hero menus, plus special guest recipes from Kishwar Chowdhury (MasterChef finalist) and ASRC CEO Kon Karapanagiotidis OAM.
- Conversation Starter Cards: To help your guests learn more about the challenges faced by people seeking asylum.
- Impact Table Cards: To show your guests exactly how their donations provide food, shelter, and healthcare.
- Campaign Artwork: This year, our campaign is woven together by the beautiful “Sufra” design from Hazara artist Sher Ali, inspired by the tablecloths that bring families together.
Host Your Way
You can host your Feast anytime between now and 30th April. Whether it’s a dinner party at home, a “bring a plate” lunch at work, or a community picnic, every Feast helps raise vital funds for the ASRC.
