My first memory of ASRC goes back to 2018 when I became a member. I started by joining the mentorship program followed by participating in the Christmas market and selling my artworks through women hub. I loved connecting with staff, other community members and sharing community meals with my mentor on Wednesday of each month and hearing about other people’s stories.

My hope for future stretches from personal and professional lens. Personally I’m so sick of temp visas. I have been working in Australia as soon as I had my work permission, 7 years now. I want to vote, have a say in politics and policy making and be able to apply for a loan to start my social enterprise, On professional level I want people from all walks of life to feel connected and belong in this society and to show up and own their whole stories.

20 years! So many people helped. I thought I was a good person but as a privileged, white, Anglo Saxon woman I had no idea how cruel the world could be. Volunteering at ASRC has shown me how good humanity can be.

The ASRC is a beacon of hope and a safe place where refugees and people seeking asylum are welcomed and supported. Congratulations for all the work you have done over the past 20 years and continue to do.

Hang in there, and know that there a lots of people that want to welcome you to our mainly lovely and wonderful country.... xoxoxox.

Blessed are the Peacemakers for they shall be called the Sons of God Thank you for giving us Peace and support. Hope that All Refugees be granted PR in this Land of Opportunities. Australia is a great country and that is why we choose to come here.

I volunteered at asrc in 2005 and 2011. The memories I have are very special, the reason I ended up with my Persian “brother”. It's all about people and love.

As an immigrant whom with my family were able to travel safely to a new life with hope of better life I hope that the painful struggles of all asylum seekers will cease one day I donate with immense gratitude for amazing people may all beings be free from suffering

It has been a great privilege to share the work of ASRC, first as an EAL teacher at West Melbourne, and at Footscray, and then in the Food Bank at Footscray. I'm sorry that I cannot support you on site at the moment, because I am in the 'vulnerable' category, as regards COVID and have not yet been fully vaccinated. I look forward to returning to Footscray in the future. In the meantime I continue to support you.

Refugees are the lifeblood of our nation. Welcome! You are us.

I worked along side smart and highly educated women, it wasn't until a long car ride I got to know them, I found out one was a refugee and another was a world vision sponsor child.
