Understanding your visa situation can be confusing.
It is not always easy to know what your visa status means or what stage of the process you are in. This uncertainty can feel overwhelming and distressing. That is why we have created the legal journey below — to help you make sense of the process and know when and how to get the right advice and support.
We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am – 12.30pm (closed on Wednesdays).
We do not offer walk-in legal support. To reach our legal team please call 03 9274 9889
We receive a large number of urgent requests for assistance, so you may need to call back if our team is at capacity for the day. We appreciate your patience.
If you are already receiving assistance from the HRLP, please wait for us to contact you.
If you are in immigration detention, you can contact us at legal@asrc.org.au. We can only respond to emails from people in immigration detention.

The ASRC acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples and Traditional Custodians of the lands where we live, learn, and work every day.
We pay our respects to them, their customs, their culture, and Elders past and present. We recognise that First Nations' sovereignty and lands were never ceded. This land always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
As part of our commitment to First Nations justice, we support Treaty for Victoria. We pay the rent to Traditional Owners through www.paytherent.net.au
